Effective October 1, 2019, childcare centers are required to test all water outlets used for drinking or food preparation. Initial samples shall be collected by the childcare center within one year of the effective date of this Rule (.2816). Non-compliance with this Rule on the initial inspection on/after October 1, 2020 will result in a general comment. Subsequent inspections with non-compliance to this Rule will be assessed 6-demerits. In toddler room observed child not supervised while washing hands. Child did not turn off water with papertowel. In 3-4 year old room child did not wash hands after wiping nose. After being asked, she was also unsupervised and did not use enough soap. Handwashing procedures shall include using soap and water, rubbing hands for 15 seconds, washes all surfaces of hands, rinsing well for 10 seconds, drying hands with paper towel or device and turning off faucet with paper towel. Have staff review handwash procedures. Handwashing after diaper changing should occur in diaper changing area. Implement handwashing procedure for caregiver wearing cloth brace. Observed potential for cross contamination.

Several bottles of milk/formula observed in small refrigerator in infant room at 47F and one child`s bottles were at 60F. Formula and other beverages which require refrigeration shall be refrigerated at 45F or below. If parents are dropping off items above 45F be sure to place them in the commercial refrigerator in the kitchen rather than the small fridge in the infant room. You could also discuss with parents how they are preparing the bottles and also how they are transporting them. After 2 hours rechecked bottles (refrigerator had been turned down) and one childs were still out of compliance, relocated to kitchen fridge.
